The Drawdown: IQ-EQ’s Davies joins Centaur

7 May 2021

Fund administrator Centaur Fund Services has appointed Gareth Davies to the newly-created head of client service, private equity, Europe role.

He joins from IQ-EQ where he spent the last couple of years as head of client relationship management EMEA. Prior to this, he spent 10 years at Augentius as head of UK client services. Before this, Davies worked as product controller at Lehman Brothers for a year. Prior to this, he was assistant vice president at JP Morgan Chase & Co for three years, having started his career as an assistant manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Based in the firm’s London office, Davies will support Centaur’s private equity client and define the firm’s PE strategy and business development plans.

“Gareth brings in-depth PE experience from servicing clients in the PE environment over the past dozen years,” said Centaur’s founding partner Karen Malone. “Centaur PE is growing rapidly, and as we expand, our continued success requires the sectoral experience of people like Gareth. His vision, PE experience and impressive cross-domicile knowledge are all important qualities to build this key sector as we enter our next phase of growth.”

Davies is a chartered accountant and is a member of the ICAEW.

This appointment follows Centaur’s announcement last year that it hired Louise Lawlor to the newly created group CFO role.

Founded in 2009, Centaur provides fund administration services to private equity, venture capital and credit funds. The firm is headquartered in Dublin and has additional offices in London, Kildare, Bermuda and Cayman Islands.
