Business and Leadership speaks to Centaur
12 March 2012
Centaur Fund Services (Centaur) was formed in 2009, although the founding partners had worked together for previous companies since 1996.
As one of the founding partners, Karen Malone, explains, Centaur is an independent fund administration company that provides professional services to alternative investment funds.
“At the time of set up the founders strongly believed that while there were many similar services companies, there was room for a company that took accountability for the services it provided,” she says.
“Since we began our operations the company has won a number of awards for innovation and client service. We currently employ in excess of 30 professional staff all based in Ireland, where we plan to grow our business.”
The founding principles of the business are to deliver excellent client service in an accountable and transparent fashion and to ensure a better level of service to each stakeholder.
“To do this we organise staff into client-based teams – in contrast to a number of our competitors, who have moved certain functions to lower-cost locations – and provide them with industry-leading technology,” says Malone.
“Despite the financial difficulties which face our industry, we have managed to attract and retain both clients and staff and we’re confident we will continue to do so in the coming years.”
Centaur was one of five Emerging New Businesses showcased at the SFA National Small Business Awards 2012.
