Role Description

The role consists of being responsible for maintaining the accounting records of the assigned funds from start to finish in an accurate and timely manner, following established controls and procedure, and ensuring superior client service. This will include (but not be exclusive to) the following:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with the stakeholders of the funds
  • Process capital activity for the funds in the accounting systems, including commitments, capital calls, distributions, drawdowns, rebalances and transfers
  • Processing of trades, cash transactions, income and expenses on a daily basis
  • Prepare daily trade, portfolio and cash reconciliations, investigate and resolve any breaks/discrepancies
  • Prepare cash flow projections
  • Update and maintain accounting records in accordance to IFRS/GAAP, internal controls and policies
  • Process payment of expenses
  • Calculate preferred return, waterfall, management fee and accruals
  • Prepare funds’ net asset value calculations and investor allocations in line with clients’ requirements and deadlines
  • Respond to client-specific requests/inquiries and proactively anticipate client needs
  • Preparation of financial statements, notes, supporting information and tax schedules, liaising with auditors and ensure the reporting deadlines are met

Experience and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following experience, qualifications and skills:

  • A university degree (B.A., B.Sc.) in Accounting/Business/Finance, together with two or more relevant experience in a Private Equity role
  • Microsoft Excel and Word expertise, and proficiency in the rest of the Microsoft Office packages
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional analytical, organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of accepted accounting standards, including Lux GAAP, IFRS, US GAAP
  • Understanding of PE/RE fund structures, holding companies, SPVs, agreements and investment strategies
  • FIS Investran and/or eFront knowledge would be an advantage but not a necessity
  • Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team in a demanding and progressive environment, meeting deadlines as necessary
  • Good English level and writing skills; other languages, particularly French would be an advantage.
