Vice President – AML/CTF Compliance Officer - Luxembourg

Role Description

Reporting to: Managing Director

The successful candidate will work as part of the Group Compliance team, with a focus on the following responsibilities:

  • As the subject matter expert, keep abreast of regulatory developments to advise the business on its regulatory compliance obligations
  • Design and maintain all compliance related policy and procedure manuals
  • Deliver compliance with regulatory requirements applicable to Centaur and its clients on a day to day basis
  • Perform initial and ongoing AML due diligence on clients in line with Luxembourg AML requirements
  • Assist with initial and ongoing due diligence reviews from clients and service providers, including AIFMs, Depositaries and Banks on Centaur
  • Contribute to the review of client documentation where required, to ensure Centaur’s compliance obligations are met
  • Arrange and/or deliver appropriate compliance training to employees within the business and maintain appropriate records of same
  • Perform ongoing compliance monitoring, reviews and assessments locally and engage with Centaur Group Compliance in the regard, where necessary
  • Plan and deliver all required internal compliance reporting to Centaur group compliance, senior management, and the board of directors, including the annual AML report
  • Manage and secure the accurate and timely submission of regulatory filings and/or reports to the CSSF on behalf of Centaur and its clients, as required
  • Attend client and other external stakeholder meetings as Compliance representative for the business and contribute to all due diligence reviews in respect of any compliance matters
  • Perform the role of Responsable du Contrôle du respect des obligations (RC) to oversee compliance with Luxembourg Anti Money Laundering (AML) and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) requirements
  • Act as a central point of contact with the CSSF regarding regulatory compliance matters
  • Represent the compliance function on external and internal working groups and committees, where required
  • Investigate internal suspicious activity reports (“SARs”) and where deemed necessary, report SARs to the appropriate reporting authorities.

Experience and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following experience, qualifications and skills:

  • University degree preferably specialising in law, business or regulation
  • A specific compliance related qualification would be added value
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in financial services, preferably in fund administration and AML/CTF compliance
  • Experience as the role of RC or equivalent (e.g. AMLCO/MLRO/DMLRO) is very desirable
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements in Luxembourg, in particular AML/CTF
  • Experience in designing and delivering compliance policies procedures, monitoring programs and reporting
  • Fluent in English and French
  • FATCA/CRS reporting experience would be beneficial
  • Proven leadership and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical skills and consistent attention to detail, focused to deliver quality results
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, in particular senior management and board level
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and assume ownership
  • Ability to use initiative and contribute to continuous improvement
  • A desire to work and develop with an innovative ambitious team
  • Ability to work independently and to manage time priorities and workload efficiently
